The PMA Long Course is a program of the Pakistan Military Academy, announced twice a year. A young candidate can apply for this program after the intermediate program to become an officer. PMA Long Course is the most prominent course in Pakistan. Three tests must be cleared by the student to join the Pakistan Military Academy. One is the initial computerized test, the Physical test, the medical test, the initial interview test, and the ISSB test.
PMA is an academy that stands for Pakistan Military Academy, which is built in Kakul, where training of commissioned officers is done for those officers who join the Pakistan Army on the 17th scale. The training of these officers is two years, during which they are given basic military skills, leadership, etc. The recommended candidates by the Pakistan Military Academy are trained physically and mentally.

Apart from this, there are two types of courses in it, which include BSc and BA. In BA, you are taught about History and Political Science, History, Economics, Military, Geography, National and International Affairs. The very first step to join the Pakistan Military Academy is to register yourself on the official website. The student must provide the correct information at the time of registration.
PMA Initial Computerized Test
The next step is the initial computerized test. The student must clear the verbal intelligence test, the non-verbal intelligence test, and the academic test.
Physical Requirements
In the physical test, there is a run of one point six kilometers which you have to do in eight minutes. Interval training sessions, Calisthenics workouts, and Agility drills and exercises can help improve performance.
There are fifteen pushes that you have to do in two minutes; besides discrossing, you also have to do them. Long-distance running techniques, Muscle endurance development, and Physical conditioning programs are necessary for this. Bodyweight training routines and Obstacle course strategies will further help in preparation.
Initial Medical Test
In the medical test of the Pakistan Military Academy, students must have a height of 5.4 feet. Eyesight of 6 by 6 and the weight should be according to the BMI.
Initial Interview and ISSB Selection
After the physical test, you are called for the initial interview in which you are asked questions about your personal life. Apart from that, you are also asked Situational awareness exercises, Behavioral interview questions, and Critical thinking assessments related to general knowledge, physics, and math. Emotional resilience training and Leadership qualities evaluation are also part of the assessment.
After that, if you get selected, then you are sent for ISBB. During this phase, Nonverbal communication skills, Stress management techniques, and Self-confidence development are crucial. Group discussion participation and Motivational speech delivery further help in evaluating a candidate’s potential.
Training Process After ISSB
After a five-day process, the candidates who are selected have their final medical. There is the training for ISBB, which is the year that I have already told you about. During the training, your basic salary is approximately thirty-eight thousand, and some allowances are attached to you.
After two years of training, you are given the rank of Second Lieutenant, and at least twenty to forty soldiers work under you, of whom two to three. You also have senior commissioned officers, that is, those people who have served in the armed forces for at least ten to fifteen years.
Throughout this period, candidates gain knowledge about National defense policies, International relations updates, the Pakistani political landscape, Historical military battles, and Global economic trends. Cultural awareness initiatives and Strategic geopolitical analysis also play important roles in understanding military and global affairs.
