What is the PMA Long Course and how to join it, what are its eligibility criteria and what are the ranks in it? First of all, let me tell you what is PMA Long Course. This is an academy of the Pakistan Military Academy which is built in Kakul where training of commissioned officers is done or those officers who join the Pakistan Army on the 17th scale. The training of these officers is two years during which they are given basic military skills leadership etc.
They are trained physically and mentally. Apart from this, there are two types of courses in it which include BSc and BA. In BA you are taught about History and Political Science, History, Economics, Military, Geography, National and International Affairs. After two years these officers are given different courses and their training is done in different courses.
Basic Steps To Join PMA Long Course Academy
Now let’s talk about those people who want to apply for this job and want to join the Pakistan Army what are the steps for them? First of all, let’s tell you that only males can apply for this and qualification is required. Also, if you have done a two-year or four-year graduation, you can apply for this. Now let us talk about the age of the candidate if you have done graduation, then you should be at least 30 years old and if you have done a graduate year, then you should be at least 24 years old.
Physical Requirements
Height should be at least 5 feet 4 inches. After applying for this there are different kinds of tests first there is the entry test, initial medical, and after that, there is a physical test. In the physical test, there is a running of one point six kilometers which you have to do in eight minutes. There are fifteen pushes which you have to do in two minutes, besides discrossing you also have to do it.
Initial Interview and ISSB Selection
After the physical test, you are called for the initial interview in which you are asked questions about your personal life. Apart from that you are also asked questions of general knowledge and physics math. After that, if you get selected then you are sent for ISBB. After a five-day process, the candidates who get selected have their final medical. There is the training for ISBB, which is the year which I have already told you about. During the training, your basic salary is approximately thirty-eight thousand and some allowances are attached to you.
Training Process After ISSB
After two years of training, you are given the rank of Second Lieutenant and at least twenty to forty soldiers work under you, in which two to three. You also have senior commissioned officers, that is, those people who have served in the arms for at least ten to fifteen years. There are two vacancies every year, one in April and one in October, and for every vacancy, about five hundred cadets.
